In Andris Vītoliņš’s painting, structure, dynamics and the sense of movement play a central role. In his works forms are built, dismantled and rearranged, creating strong visual tension. Colour, line and composition act as carriers of energy – they do not simply describe the visible world, but transform it into a rhythmic and intense language of painting.
In Vītoliņš’s paintings, everything appears to be in a constant process of change. Forms are simplified and concentrated until the core of the idea becomes visible. This ability to create a clear visual system out of movement, tension and apparent chaos resonates with forward-looking thinking – the ability to think more broadly and to see direction where everything is still in the process of becoming.
