Documents proving the insured event

  • Death certificate.
  • A document confirming the cause of death – a document issued by a medical institution indicating the cause of death or a statement from the Registry Office about the cause of death.
  • Other documents related to the insurance event, if available at your disposal, for example, investigation documents, judicial documents, extracts from an outpatient and / or hospital patient's medical card.
  • A document issued by a medical institution stating the full diagnosis, the date of the diagnosis, the treatment used, the medical history.
  • Results of tests confirming the diagnosis.
  • Extract from the hospital.
  • Decision of The State Medical Commission for the Assessment of Health Condition and Working Ability for the determination of invalidity and incapacity to work.
  • A document issued by a medical institution stating the full diagnosis, the date of the diagnosis, the treatment used, the medical history.
  • Other documents related to the insurance event, if available at your disposal, for example, investigation documents, judicial documents.

  • In order to receive each subsequent indemnity, if the involuntary unemployment continues, you must submit a Statement from the State Employment Agency regarding the status of the unemployed.

If you are unable to fill in the indemnity application online and need to do it in person

  • In the case that you do not use the option to apply for the indemnity remotely, you must apply in person
  • Book an appointment
  • Go to the branch and fill in the application, as well as present the necessary documents
  • Receive the indemnity

What to do when a home, travel or car insurance event occurs?

  • Immediately inform relevant authorities (the police, the fire and rescue service or the manager of the house) about the event
    If it doesn’t endanger your health and safety, try to reduce the damage caused by the accident. Take photos of the scene of the accident and its consequences.
  • Submit an application for indemnity 24/7 within 3 working days from the accident on the webpage if.lv or by calling If Insurance at +371 67338333
  • Never start repair without the consent of insurer. The insurer will contact you if it will be necessary to ask for additional documents and evidence, clarify information about the circumstances of the insurance event, the amount of losses and possible liable persons, or agree on the possibility to inspect the scene or damaged property.
     
  • Immediately inform relevant authorities (the police, the fire and rescue service) about the event

The insurer will contact you if it will be necessary to ask for additional documents and evidence, clarify information about the circumstances of the insurance event, the amount of losses and possible liable persons, or agree on the possibility to inspect the damaged vehicle. You can take the vehicle to a repair service of your choice in order to prepare a repair cost estimate.
  • Immediately inform relevant authorities (the police, the fire and rescue service or the manager of the house) about the event

What to do if an accident occurs or you need help:

  • If you require medical help due to sudden illness, trauma or acute toothache, visit the nearest medical facility or contact the local emergency medical service if the situation is urgent.
  • If you require transportation to your home country doe to a trauma or illness, please contact If Insurance.
  • If an insured person dies during the trip, please immediately contact If Insurance.
  • If damage to health, life of property of a third party is caused during the trip, for example, if you collide with another skier who needs medical help afterwards, please immediately contact If Insurance. Be sure to take care of the documents related to accident, including a written document by the injured party or its representative about the damages caused. Afterwards apply for indemnity.
  • If you need legal help during the trip, please immediately contact If Insurance. When you return to your home country, apply for indemnity.
  • If at the travel’s destination you notice that your luggage is damaged, ask the carrier for a proof about the damaged luggage. To apply for indemnity, you need to keep the damaged luggage, as well as provide pictures of it. When you return to your home country, apply for indemnity.
  • If the delivery of your luggage is delayed for more than 4 hours in the travel’s destination due to the fault of the carrier, ask the carrier for a proof about the delay. If you need to buy basic necessities, such as clothes, shoes or hygiene items, make sure to keep a proof of payment for these items. When you return to your home country, apply for indemnity.
  • If Insurance will contact you if it will be necessary to ask for additional documents and evidence, clarify information about the circumstances of the insurance event, the amount of losses and possible liable persons.
