Contactless payment card allows you to pay for purchases worth up to 50 EUR without entering the PIN. You may use the card also for transactions in ATMs and internet payments.

  • You can use the contactless card to pay for small purchases, which is simple and quick, without inserting your card in the POS terminal and entering a PIN. The limit for payments without PIN is EUR 50 in Latvia. Larger purchases should be confirmed with PIN. For security reasons, you would be required to enter your PIN when making the first payment with your contactless card;
  • Due to security reason it is possible to set the limit of contactless purchases in internet bank (up to 150 EUR) – after the limit will be reached, it will be necessary to confirm next purchase by entering PIN even if purchase’s amount will be less than 50 EUR;
  • No commissions for your purchases of goods and services in Latvia and abroad;
  • Use it for booking plane tickets and hotels;
  • Handy for payments for your online purchases;
  • Withdraw cash from ATMs and banks worldwide;
  • Get information about your account balance and the most recent transactions in the account at SEB bank’s ATMs, in internet bank or in an SMS;
  • Top up the balance on your current account by depositing cash at the SEB bank’s ATM;
  • Tie several additional cards to your current account (e.g., for your family members) and set an individual limit for cash withdrawals from ATMs for each card
  • If necessary, you can withdraw cash at POS in shops at no extra cost;

Limits on card transactions for your financial security

For additional security of the funds held in your account, the bank has set transaction limits, i.e., the maximum amount that you may withdraw from ATMs within a day. The limit for the Mastercard Debit card has been set by the bank at EUR 1,500, whereas the limit for POS and online transactions has been set at EUR 4,000 within a day. If necessary, you can change the limits.

Contactless payments limits

Without entering PIN, in Latvia you can pay up to 50 EUR for one purchase and this limit can not be changed. For additional security, SEB has total contactless payment limit of 50 EUR, reaching which it is necessary to enter a PIN. You can change this limit within 5-50 EUR in the internet bank or at any SEB branch.

Practical tips for secure transactions with your card

  • Keep your payment card in a safe place;
  • Do not disclose the PIN of your card, nor keep it written on a piece of paper together with your card or in your cell phone. When confirming your transactions with the PIN, make sure that nobody can see it;
  • Only the person whose name and signature appears on the card may use it;
  • Always check the transaction amount before confirming the transaction with the PIN;
  • Keep transaction receipts for reconciling the amounts shown on them with the internet banking transaction report;
  • Only use the services of safe online shops and service providers;
  • If you enter a wrong PIN three times consecutively when making a purchase, the card will be automatically blocked for security reasons. You can unblock the card at SEB bank’s ATMs, by entering the correct PIN.

What to do if the payment card is lost?

  • To block your payment card, please call SEB bank immediately on its 24-hour helpline + 371 26668777);
  • If you find your card after reporting the loss or theft thereof, please do not use it and contact SEB bank.

If you already are the customer of SEB, you can apply for the card via the internet banking. If you are not the customer of SEB yet, you can become customer and apply for the card at any branch of SEB, you will need to show your passport or ID card. You will be able to receive the credit card by post or at the branch within 5 business days. Receiving of cards by post in the territory of Latvia is free of charge, and sending abroad – according to the price list.

To receive the card by post, please update your contact information on the internet banking or at the branch. After receiving the card it will need to be activated within four weeks at SEB bank’s ATMs, mobile app, at the internet banking or by calling SEB at + 371 26668777. If you receive the card by post, you will see its PIN in the internet bank immediately upon card activation.

If the card is not activated, it is will be closed. The card is valid for four years.

The limit of cash withdrawal from ATMs within a period up to 24 hours for users of Mastercard contactless debit card is 1,500 EUR.

Total cash deposit limit in ATMs with all customer’s cards is 7,000 EUR per month.7

The limit of purchases within a period up to 24 hours for users of Mastercard contactless debit card is 4,000 EUR.

Customers until 18 years of age get the same price and limits as applied for Mastercard Junior debit card.

For other services (current account maintenance, transactions in the account, processing of the customer’s documents etc.) which SEB bank provides to the customer in relation to payment card servicing, the customer pays in accordance with SEB bank’s General Price list for individuals.

A maximum of 200 banknotes can be deposited in an ATM in a single deposit transaction.

2 If processing of the complaint involves obtaining documentary proof of transactions, then a fee will be charged to the amount of the actual cost of the service.

3 Application shall be deemed received by us:
    •  on the current working day if the application is submitted and received before 16:00;
    •  on the next working day if the application is submitted after 16:00.

   In case working day is shortened according to the law, the above deadline shall be one hour prior to end of the shortened working day.

5 If the card is ordered on business day by 12:00, it will be available at the Rīdzene branch on the same day after 16:00. If the card is ordered after 12:00, it can be received at Rīdzene branch on the next business day after 16:00.
