Documents and requirements for opening an account
Professional staff, a thorough approach to risk management and good corporate governance are crucial to our performance. This is also reflected in our principles: create value, act for the long term and build positive relationships. When considering cooperation with individuals and companies, we pay particular attention to ensuring that our potential clients share the same principles. We therefore give preference to clients who are resident/registered in Latvia, have a strong connection to Latvia and who are committed to sustainability in their business.
One of our main requirements for starting a cooperation with a new customer is the person’s connection to Latvia. Examples of such connection include:
- person has a Latvian citizenship,
- person lives, studies or works in Latvia,
- person’s relatives (spouse, children, or parents) live in Latvia.
To assess the person’s connection to Latvia, we’ll request supporting documents, such as:
- identity document – passport or eID card,
- for persons from outside Latvia – a valid residence permit, work or study agreement, or additional information about relatives living in Latvia,
- for non-European Economic Area or Swiss citizens – a valid residence permit in Latvia,
- we may also ask for additional documents, such as a bank statement, in accordance with the "Know Your Customer" principle.
