Changes in payment card agreement regulations to take effect on September 3

A number of important changes in payment card agreement regulations for private individuals and companies will take effect on September 3, 2018. These changes are related to introduction of requirements of European Union’s Payment Services Directive PSD2:

  • losses caused by unauthorized transactions will be compensated to clients no later than by the end of the next working day;
  • for losses from transactions made with a lost, stolen or illegally used payment card, client deductibles are reduced from 150 to 50 EUR;
  • client claims (including claims concerning payment card transactions) will be considered as received on the same day, if the client submits them during bank’s working day before 16:00 o’clock. If client submits the claim after 16:00 o’clock, it will be considered as received on the next working day;
  • a number of other improvements concerning terminology and editorial corrections have been made, however, these changes do not alter the previous conditions.
