Cards for youth (aged 7-17)

  • The payment card is available for children aged 7 and above
  • The Contactless card, Junior card or the Picture card can be applied for
  • The child's money will always be safe, even if the card is lost

The Contactless card, Junior card or the Picture card will be your child’s first payment card. The child will be able to use it to pay for their purchases in shops, for withdrawing cash from ATMs, as well as for online shopping. 

You can apply for card at any branch of SEB bank; you will need to present your passport/ID card, as well as the child's birth certificate and passport (if such has been issued). If the child is at least 16 years old, he can apply for the card without parents.

  • By using the card and making payments with it, the child will become more independent financially

What you should know when applying for the card for your child?

  • The contactless and Junior card for your child will be made within 5 working days, and no monthly fee will be charged for the use thereof.
  • Picture card will be made within 5 working days and will be issued at the price indicated in the bank’s price list. For the card, you can use a picture of your own or select any picture from the Picture card catalogue at the bank’s branch.
  • The card is valid for 4 years (for 3 years for Picture card), and upon the expiry of the card the bank will automatically make a new card.
  • Upon connecting the SMS banking, your child will receive an SMS from the bank notifying of the card’s expiry date and receiving of the new card at the specified branch of the bank.

How to apply for and receive the card?

  • For children aged 7 -15 years (inclusive), the card for the child shall be applied for and received and the internet bank access data shall be given by the child’s representative (juniors aged 15 are required to identify themselves with the passport or ID card).
  • Children aged 16 and older shall apply for the card and provide Internet bank access data themselves, and receive the card themselves, upon presenting their personal identification document (their passport or ID card.

What children should know about the use of the card

Before you entrust using of the card to your child, talk through all security aspects with him/her, tell him/her what to do if he/she loses the card. You should keep you card in a safe place, memorise the PIN of the card and must not disclose it to anyone, nor keep it written on a piece of paper together with the card or in the memory of your mobile phone.

  • Treat your card with care – a damaged card can become invalid. If you have lost your card or if it has been stolen, it needs to be blocked immediately. You can do that by calling the 24/7 helpline of SEB bank +371 26668777 (it is best that this number is saved in the child’s phone). The card will be blocked, and the money in the account will stay safe. If the card is found after the bank has already been notified of the loss of the card, do not use the card and contact the bank again.
  • Bear in mind the rules of a safe use of the card when making online purchases. Make sure that you use the services of only certified online shops and service providers.
  • For added security of the funds held in your current account, the bank has set transaction limits.
  • If you enter a wrong PIN in the POS terminal three times consecutively, the card will be automatically blocked for security reasons. You can unblock the card at ATMs, by entering the correct PIN.

For other services (current account maintenance, transactions in the account, cash operations, processing of the customer’s documents etc.) which SEB bank provides to the customer in relation to SEB bank's payment card servicing, the customer pays in accordance with SEB bank’s General Price list for individuals.

The limit of cash withdrawal from ATMs within a period up to 24 hours for users of MasterCard Junior debit card is 70 EUR.

Total cash deposit limit in ATMs with all customer’s cards is 15,000 EUR per month.

The limit of purchases within a period up to 24 hours for users of MasterCard Junior debit card is 1,000 EUR.

A maximum of 200 banknotes can be deposited in an ATM in a single deposit transaction.

2 Reaching or exceeding the monthly withdrawal limit of 600 EUR in ATM, the fee is applied starting from the next withdrawal transaction upon reaching or exceeding the limit.

3 Reaching or exceeding the monthly deposit limit of 6,000 EUR in ATM, the fee is applied starting from the next cash deposit transaction upon reaching or exceeding the limit.

4 If processing of the complaint involves obtaining documentary proof of transactions, then a fee will be charged to the amount of the actual cost of the service.

5 The changed PIN code is valid until the end of the validity period written on the card; upon card renewal a new PIN code is prepared.

6 The card can be received at SEB bank’s branch "Dienvidu" at 16:00 of the same business day, if application has been submitted by 12:00, and at 16:00 of the next business day, if application has been submitted after 12:00.
