What children should know about how to use the card

Before you entrust using of the card to your child, talk through all the safety aspects with him/her, tell him/her what to do, if the card is lost. The card needs to be kept safely, the PIN code must be memorised, it may not be disclosed to anyone, nor can it be kept written on a piece of paper together with the card or in the mobile phone memory.

  • Treat your card with care – a damaged card may become invalid. If you have lost your card or if it has been stolen, it needs to be blocked immediately. You can do this by calling the 24/7 infoline of SEB bank +371 26668777 (it is best to save this number in the child’s phone). The card will be blocked, and the money in the account will stay safe. If the card is found after the bank has already been notified of the loss of the card, do not use the card and contact the bank again.
  • It is important to remember the rules of the safe use of the card when making online purchases. Make sure that only certified online shops and service providers are used.
  • For better security of the money in the current account, the bank has set transaction limits.
  • If you enter the PIN code of your card in the POS terminal incorrectly three times consecutively, the card will be automatically blocked for security purposes. You can unlock it at any ATM, by entering the correct PIN code.
