    The Company has completed "Internet Trader's Application Questionnaire" and sent it to the e-mail address: ecommerce@seb.lv.

    The company has opened a bank account in SEB bank.

    An agreement has been signed between the company and SEB bank on servicing payment cards.

    An agreement has been signed with First Data Latvia on "Establishment of Connection to IBIS Server and its Maintenance", an "IBIS Trader's Agent" module has been integrated in the internet home page.

  • Basic requirements for internet trader's home page


    The trader's e-shop is obligated to maintain the following information:


    - The company's full name, registration number, e-mail address, the country represented by the company, as well as the trader's name that will appear in the customer's card account statement;

    - Conditions of home page usage and purchase payment (either at the moment of payment, or directly before the purchase payment); 

    - The procedure in which the customer returns the goods and receives a refund of the money. Before the purchase payment, the customer's consent must be received;

    - A precise description of goods/services and transaction currency;

    - Export restrictions, if any, as well as the goods delivery policy;

    - Service contact information, including e-mail address and/or telephone;

    - Customer data privacy policy and security measures for transmission of card data;

    - Colourful card logotypes for the cards with which the customer can make payments.

  • Areas with which the cooperation is restricted or prohibited


    Areas with restricted cooperation:


    - Purchases over the telephone or post;

    - Direct marketing;

    - Computer networks, software/information services;

    - Goods protected by copyright (including brand names);

    - Non-prescription medications (including food additives, vitamins);

    - Gambling and lotteries (only for companies which are under the supervision of state and municipal institutions);

    - Tobacco articles, tobacco.


    Areas with which cooperation is prohibited:


    - Prescription medications;

    - Electronic commerce traders (electronic money);

    - Escort service;

    - Services of adult content;

    - Traders of adult video recordings;

    - Goods/services prohibited in the legislation of the Republic of Latvia.

  • Payment card area's Data security standard


    Payment card area's Data security standard is the minimum security requirements which should be complied with by anybody performing card transaction processing, storage and transmission. This standard has been introduced by payment card organizations with the purpose of decreasing risks related to rapid development of technology. Payment card area's Data security standard is publicly available on the internet: www.pcisecuritystandards.org.

    Separation of duties and liability, regular survey of access rights, development of internal procedures and main measures of implementation by which these risks can be reduced.

    Once a year – the self-assessment questionnaire should be completed.

    The number of card transactions is calculated once a quarter for each card scheme separately and all card transactions are taken into account (successful ones, refused ones, credit transactions, etc.):


    - VISA + VISA Electron + V Pay;

    - MasterCard + MasterCard Electronic + Maestro.


    Consequences of failure to observe the Payment card area's Data security standard:


    Litigation – criminal proceedings instigated on the offences committed, civil claims on covering of losses.

    Penalties – payable to international card organizations:


    - VISA – a penalty of 10-50K. Euro (depends on the size of the trader) + 30K. Euro per month if prohibited data are stored.

    - MasterCard – up to 100K. USD per each offence of a clause of the standard + a penalty 500-250K . Euro (depends on the scope of theft).


    Financial liability – all fraudulent transactions with cards committed at the e-trader should be paid by the e-trader, even if the transaction was carried out at another trader:


    - VISA – maximum liability 1 million. USD;

    - MasterCard – maximum liability is not limited. Additionally, compensation is payable to issuing banks for repeated issuance of cards and customer service in the amount of 3% and additional compensation of 5% if fraudulent transactions were made.


    If the trader also kept PIN, the maximum liability is not limited.

  • Internet trader's action if fraud has occurred


    Immediately report to SEB banka by telephone 8777, 67779993 or e-mail: ecommerce@seb.lv and the Data Processing Centre (company First Data Latvia) on the telephone 67092555 on the known and found cases of fraud. 

    Apply to the police and cooperate with the accepting bank's security service without hindering the investigation of cases. Follow all instructions and recommendations of fraud fighting specialists to substantially mitigate the investigating process. 

E-payment is alternative option for customers to use SEB banka Internet bank "Ibanka" for settlements, instead of a payment card.
