Chairman of the Board of SEB Group, Markus Vallenberg visits the Baltic States

Chairman of the Board of SEB Group, Markus Vallenberg visited SEB Eesti Ühispank and SEB Vilniaus Bankas on May 4th and 5th. In the framework of the programme, the management of SEB Group saw presentations of the banks, visited branch offices, customers, gave interviews and also met the management of the central banks in Estonia and Lithuania.

During his visit in Estonia, Markus Vallenberg acknowledged the excellent operational results and the united team work of SEB Eesti Ühispank.

Currently, SEB banks in the Baltic States have commenced their closer integration into the whole SEB Group, and Markus Vallenberg specified that the offices in the Baltic States are the ones that could teach a lot also to the other branches of SEB Group.

President of SEB Eesti Ühispank, Marts Altvee is very satisfied with the visit of Markus Vallenberg in Estonia. "This visit gave us a wonderful opportunity to show the daily operation of the bank to Markus Vallenberg and to introduce him with the Bank's challenges for future."

Vallenberg's visit in the Baltic States branch offices was concluded by a visit to Lithuania where he met customers of SEB Vilniaus Bankas. After the Friday morning presentation by SEB Vilniaus Bankas, the Chairman of the Board of SEB Group had a meeting with the management of the Lithuanian bank and the Minister of Economics, but a meeting with the Chairman of Vilnius City Council was held in the afternoon.

Audrius Žiugžda, the President of SEB Vilnius Bankas, emphasised that the visit was very inspiring for the whole team of the Bank. "We had an opportunity to share our ambitions and challenges, to discuss and to learn more about the vision of Markus Vallenberg for SEB future development and the most important fields of activity for our Bank particularly."

Markus Vallenberg will visit SEB Unibanka on June 9th when he will participate also in the celebration of SEB 150th Anniversary.

Since the bank opened in 1856, generations of customers and employees have made SEB what it is today. This year SEB Group is celebrating 150 years of looking forward.
